Text Box: This facility encompassed 1,200,000 square feet and was originally constructed in 1922 as a General Motors manual transmission facility.  A 1990 joint venture between GM and Chrysler Corporation created the former company.  As Facilities Architect, Jim McKibben of McKIBBEN ARCHITECTS, LLC was responsible for the design, and construction of all new construction, building maintenance, and building remodeling projects completed at this facility.  Work usually was jointly completed by outside contractors and various skilled trades employees of the UAW.  Projects included multiple plant expansions, interior and exterior plant improvements, and large facilities maintenance projects at the main manufacturing plant, boiler house, and waste treatment plant.
This facility was closed by General Motors and completely demolished in 2006.
