Text Box: Hartford City Fire Station

Text Box: This 10,000 square foot facility replaced the existing circa 1880 fire station that had been built on the same site. Complete with functioning hose drying tower and residential facilities for both men and women fire fighters, this facility has bays for 11 pieces of equipment. Several items from the original building were salvaged and included into the new fire station including the original brass fire pole. Items recovered from the original cornerstone were reinstalled into a new cornerstone installed near the entrance of this new facility.
The project was nominated for a design award by the Indiana Concrete Masonry Association. Architects of record were Graham,Love Graham of Muncie, IN.  While serving as a principal at Graham, Love and Graham, Jim McKibben of McKIBBEN ARCHITECTS, LLC, functioned as the Project Architect.
